  • Tea Jasmine Tea and Green Tea works best for this recipe, but can also use black tea or Oolong Tea if preferred.
  • Ice – standard size ice cubes.
  • Sweetener – use your preferred sweetener.
  • Sea Salt – sea salt preferred.
  • Whipping Cream – heavy cream, heavy whipping cream or double cream.

Tea Bags can be used as an alternative for brewing the tea if preferred, however, it’s important to note that the flavor may not be as robust compared to using loose tea leaves.

Step 1 Start by brewing a cup of your preferred tea using your favorite brewing method. Mix in sweetener and then add ice.

🍵 Steeping Pro Tip

Avoid Oversteeping the tea to prevent a bitter taste caused by excessive tannins. The recommended times are 3 minutes for Green and Jasmine Tea, 4 minutes for Oolong Tea, and 5 minutes for Black Tea.

Step 2 In a mixing bowl, combine whipping cream and sea salt, then use a hand mixer to beat the mixture for 2-3 minutes until it becomes thick and frothy, while still maintaining a slightly runny texture.

The foam is ready once you lift the mixer and notice Peaks Formed in the mixture. This visual cue indicates the perfect consistency for achieving a smooth and creamy foam texture.

For a simple variation, try using my Iced Oolong Tea as your base to add a little more milkiness to the drink.  If you are looking to transform this recipe, swap out the base tea with coffee to craft a Taiwanese Sea Salt Coffee. Or you could even put it onto of my Hot Matcha Latte to make my Sea Salt Matcha Latte variation! For a matcha twist, add some matcha powder to the foam cap on top to make my Matcha Cold Foam!

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp Jasmine Loose Leaf Tea can sub with green, black or oolong tea
  • 12 oz Hot Water
  • 1/4 Cup Ice
  • 1/2 Cup Whipping Cream
  • 1/4 tsp Sea Salt
  • 2 tsp Sweetener your preferred sweetener

Instructions

  • Gather all the ingredients.

  • Use your preferred method to steep tea leaves. My go-to is using the bottom dispensing tea pot for the simplicity and ease. Note - I recommend steeping the tea for at least 3-5 minutes depending on the type of tea being used.

  • In a serving glass, pour tea over ice, add sweetener and stir to dissolve. You can adjust sweetness level to your liking (we recommend adjusting per tsp of sweetener).

  • In a medium mixing bowl, add whipping cream and sea salt. Beat on high until thick and frothy but still runny. About 2-3 minutes with a hand mixer.

      Hello! We pour the tea directly over ice, but if you have the time, you can chill in the refrigerator instead.
