Why I Love This Recipe
Let me share why I’m obsessed with my Air Fried Salt n Vinegar Zucchini Chips! Born from my desire for a healthier alternative to my chip cravings, these crispy delights are my own creation!
Taking inspiration from our proven dehydration technique used in our Beef Jerky Chips, I marinate thinly sliced zucchini in vinegar and salt, then air fry them until they’re irresistibly crispy! They’re my go-to snack, perfect for anyone craving a wholesome, real ingredient snack without any additives. Trust me, once you try them, you won’t be able to resist their crispy perfection!
Ingredients
Ingredients
- Zucchini Squash – fresh thinly sliced green zucchini.
- White Vinegar – white distilled vinegar.
- Salt – sea salt preferred.
🥒 Zucchini Note
While it’s possible to thinly slice the zucchini using a knife, I highly recommend using a Mandoline for Consistent Slices. This ensures uniform thickness, which is crucial for even cooking and achieving the perfect texture in your zucchini chips.
Essential Kitchen Equipment
Directions
Step 1 Begin by thinly slicing the zucchini. Submerge the slices in a bowl of vinegar, ensuring they are well coated.
Step 2 Next, place the vinegar-soaked zucchini slices into the air fryer basket, taking care to arrange them in a single layer without overlapping and season with salt. To keep the slices in place and prevent them from flying around during cooking, add a lid, net, or rack on top.
💡 Air Frying Pro Tip
Avoid Overcrowding the air fryer basket and ensure the slices are arranged in a Single Layer. Overcrowding can prevent proper dehydration and crispness, resulting in unevenly cooked chips.
Step 3 Set the air fryer to 210°F and cook for approximately 30-35 minutes.
Pairing Recommendations

Frequently Asked Questions
What other flavors of zucchini chips can I make?
You have plenty of options when it comes to flavors for your zucchini chips! Here are some ideas to get you started: Salt, Black Pepper & Olive Oil, Ranch, Lemon Pepper, Cajun Seasoning, BBQ Seasoning, Garlic Powder, Parmesan Cheese, and Italian Seasoning. Feel free to experiment with your favorite seasonings and create unique flavor combinations that suit your taste preferences!
Can I bake these zucchini chips instead?
Absolutely! You can bake these zucchini chips instead of air frying them. Simply preheat your oven to 225°F and bake the chips for approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, or until they achieve a slight browning and crispiness. To prevent sticking, make sure to use a cooking spray on your baking sheet before arranging the zucchini slices.
How long should I soak the zucchini slices in vinegar and salt?
I recommend soaking the zucchini slices in vinegar for approximately 5 to 10 minutes.
Storage Tips
Store the leftover zucchini chips in an airtight container at room temperature. They will remain fresh for 14-21 days. If they become stale, simply reheat them in the air fryer for 3-4 minutes at 210°F to regain their crispiness.
