Directions

☑ Before Getting Started

Prep Your Ingredients in advance for efficiency and use a roomy Wok or Deep Skillet. Opt for High-Temperature Cooking Oil to achieve that signature hibachi sizzle.

Step 1 Begin by melting butter and combining it with grated garlic.

Step 2 In a generously sized deep skillet or wok, heat oil to the desired temperature. Add sliced onions and cook until fragrant, then introduce zucchini and sauté for 2-3 minutes until slightly softened.

💡 Hibachi Cooking Pro Tip

Avoid Overcrowding the pan as it can lead to steaming instead of stir-frying, resulting in soggy rather than crispy vegetables. Cook in Batches if needed.

Step 3 Proceed to incorporate mushrooms, seasoning with salt and black pepper, and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the preferred tenderness is achieved.

Step 4 Blend in the garlic butter mixture, and serve the stir fry, garnishing it with toasted sesame seeds. For those seeking a hint of spice, consider adding red pepper flakes as an optional enhancement.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long should I cook the vegetables for optimal tenderness?

For optimal tenderness, aim to cook the vegetables for a total of around 5 minutes. However, it's important to stagger the addition of vegetables based on their cooking times, as some may cook quicker than others. By adding them in stages, you can ensure that each vegetable reaches the perfect level of tenderness without overcooking any particular ingredient.

What type of pan should I use to make this stir fry?

Ideally, you'd use a wok for its ability to evenly distribute heat and accommodate the tossing motion. However, if you don't have a wok, a large deep skillet with ample room can also do the job effectively. The key is to ensure that whatever pan you use allows for proper heat distribution and ample space to toss the ingredients for even cooking.

How can I ensure the vegetables don't become soggy?

Firstly, avoid crowding the pan to allow for proper evaporation of any liquid released from the vegetables during cooking. Secondly, be mindful not to overcook the vegetables, as this can lead to them becoming mushy and losing their texture. By following these tips, you'll be able to achieve perfectly crisp and tender vegetables in your stir fry every time.

Storage Tips

Store the leftover in an airtight container in the fridge. It will stay fresh for 3-5 days.
