Ingredient Add Ins for Fried Rice
Chopped Broccoli, Bell Peppers, and Bean Sprouts are excellent choices to add variety and substance to your dish.
🍚 Rice Note
For optimal results, use Leftover Cold Rice or Day-Old Cooked Cold Rice. This technique efficiently reduces excess moisture, making it easier to get the proper fried rice texture with home cooking.
Directions
☑ Before Getting Started
Prep Your Ingredients in advance for efficiency and use a roomy Wok or Deep Skillet. Opt for High-Temperature Cooking Oil to achieve that signature sizzle and pop.
Step 1 First, beat some eggs in a mixing bowl and cook them in a frying pan until partially cooked. Set aside.
Step 2 In a large skillet or wok, add some oil if using traditional white rice, then add carrots, onions, and rice. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are tender and the rice is heated through.
🍳 Hibachi Cooking Pro Tip
Avoid Overcrowding the pan to ensure there’s enough space for all the rice to cook evenly under high heat and within the correct temperature range. If making a large serving, it’s better to Cook in Batches instead.
Step 3 Next, add the rest of the veggies such as green onion, green peas, corn, and any additional veggies of your choice. Add the partially cooked eggs, soy sauce, grated garlic, butter, and seasonings like salt and black pepper. Stir-fry everything together until well combined.
Step 4 Finally, top with some toasted sesame seeds for extra flavor and crunch, and transfer to a bowl.
🧈 Garlic Butter Recipe Note
Feel free to customize the amount of garlic butter in this recipe to match your personal taste. While the suggested quantity serves as a starting point, you have the flexibility to increase or decrease it to reach your preferred level of garlic butter flavor.
Recipe Variations
Elevate your fried rice by swapping out the garlic butter for kimchi and chicken, creating a flavorful Kimchi Chicken Fried Rice. Alternatively, for a comforting option, add spam to make Spam Fried Rice. Both variations offer unique twists on this hibachi style fried rice recipe. Pairing Recommendations
Create a complete Japanese hibachi dining experience at home! Begin with a Japanese Ginger Salad and Tofu Miso Soup. For the main course, choose between Hibachi Chicken or Pan Seared Cod, served with Hibachi Ginger Sauce. End with creamy Mason Jar Matcha Ice Cream for a sweet finale.
