  • Garlic– freshly sliced garlic. I recommend using pre-peeled garlic for ease of preparation.
  • Neutral Oil no taste or flavor with high cooking temperature. Some choices are sunflower oil, peanut oil, sallower oil, vegetable oil, and canola oil.

For optimal convenience, I suggest using Pre-Peeled Garlic to minimize preparation time. These are readily available at most grocery stores.

Make sure to select the Appropriate Sized Skillet for the amount of garlic you are frying. It’s essential to choose a skillet that is not too large, as the garlic should be submerged in the oil for even cooking, nor too small, to prevent overcrowding and overlapping of the garlic slices.

Step 1 Add cooking oil to a small to medium-sized skillet with a flat bottom. Without preheating the oil, add in sliced garlic and cook over medium heat. Cook for 45-60 seconds for the garlic to start to sizzle and turn brown, then flip and cook the other side for 30-45 seconds until browned.

For a quick alternative, consider making these garlic chips in the microwave. Simply add the sliced garlic with the oil and Microwave for 30-60 Seconds until browned. Remember to cover the bowl to prevent splattering. Just note, for optimal results, I recommend using a pan frying.

Make sure you wait until the garlic is Completely Cooled before using it. This cooling period allows the garlic slices to harden, resulting in the crispier texture we are after.
