Ingredients

Spam Bowl

  • 6 oz Spam chopped
  • 1 tbsp Cooking Oil neutral, no flavor or taste
  • 2 Cups Rice rice of choice
  • 1 tbsp Roasted Seaweed shredded

Sauce

  • 1 tbsp Japanese Sake
  • 1 tbsp Sweetener your preferred sweetener
  • 1 tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 1/4 tsp Liquid Smoke
  • 1/4 tsp Cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp Water

Instructions

  • Gather all the ingredients.

  • Combine cornstarch and water to make the cornstarch slurry.

  • In a skillet, boil the Japanese sake for 15-20 seconds, then remove it from heat. Add the soy sauce, sweetener, and liquid smoke to the skillet, followed by the cornstarch slurry. Stir until the sauce thickens, then set it aside.

  • Heat cooking oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Add the chopped spam and sear for 2-3 minutes until browned on the outside.
