Ingredients
1 1/2lbPork Belly
2tbspToasted Sesame Oil
1/4tspSalt
1/8tspBlack Pepper
1/4InchGinger
1CloveGarlic
1/2Stalk Green Onion
Instructions
Gather all the ingredients.
Cut pork belly into ~1/2 inch thickness. The length of each piece can vary but it's best to be around 1-2 inches long per slice. Note - it's easier to slice meat more precisely if semi-frozen.
Finely chop green onion stalk and set aside.
Grate garlic and ginger into a small mixing bowl. Mix in toasted sesame oil, salt, and black pepper until well combined. Set aside.
Bring a large frying pan up to temperature on high. Once up to temp, reduce to medium-high heat, transfer pork belly and cook for about 3-5 minutes per side until nicely browned. Note - after about 5 minutes, the oils from the pork belly will start to accumulate in the pan and you will start deep frying. This is where the pork belly will really crisp up.
Transfer the pork belly to a plate, including any remaining oils.
In a large frying pan over high heat, add the sauce. Once the sauce starts to bubble and become fragrant, return the pork belly to the pan. Mix the pork belly until well coated, then transfer it to a serving plate. Top with green onions.
